fuel leaks... pump and injectors

Well i have had a small fuel leak in my injector pump for a while now. Its been leakin ever since i took my afc lever out at the begginning of summer. It just wasn't leakin that much and i didn't really have the ambition to fix it. But now it has gotten worse and my pump is leakin more. I haven't noticed any power loss but it is leaking. You can smell diesel everytime you turn the truck off and it'll drip off on to the ground sometimes. When it is idling i can't see it leaking and can't exactly tell where its coming from. But when i took my afc lever out, I used some big channel lock pliers to put the fuel line back on, and i might of scarred the little washers on it enough to make it leak. I'm gonna clean it up and see if i can see where its leakin from. But is there any places on this pump that are proned to leak after you have pulled the afc lever out? Its getting colder and i wanna try and get this fixed and stop wastin fuel. thanks in advance

Also some of my injectors are leakin too. #4,5, and 6 injectors are leakin, but #1,2 and 3 don't really seem to be leakin, they aren't leakin a lot. But it'd be good to get that fixed too. Do i just need to tighten them? I'm not too familiare with these injectors and haven't ever really messed with them. DO i just remove the fuel line and screw the injector out and then screw it back in tightly? or do these have a nut that holds them in? and what do ya torque them to? thanks

Could be leaking from the return line like you said, or from the pump top gasket.

Just get the seal kit and replace 'em all and be done with it.

I was thinkin about that... but then i figured i'm probably about due for a new pump anyways so i might as well get a different one or at least change the head on this one. I'd like to find a good deal on a VE and keep the one I have and not send it in as a core, It'd be nice to have a spare. But we'll see what happens, I'll take the fuel line off and change the washers and see if it does anything.

So what do i do with the injectors?
thanks wanna

Where are the injectors leaking from? If it's from the lines you can usually crack them and retighten them and that will stop it. Could also be that the return banjo bolts need to be snugged. If it's bubbling out from the big nut then the injector will have to come out and have the nozzle tightened.

Also oil from the valve cover gaskets can puddle around the injectors and make it look like they are leaky. Be sure it's fuel.

It is fuel, I cleaned up my engine a while back and changed the valve cover seals and it hasn't leaked oil since so i know its fuel. I think its coming out from the big nut on the injector. What do you torque these to?

40 ft-lbs, but if it's leaking fuel from there it's because the nozzles are loose on the bodies.
