fuel leak cont. PLEASE HELP!!!

I posted yesterday about having a leaky fuel filter/fuel heater. In addition to that, its leaking in the following locations. I borrowed the pic from another thread.

Please click on attachment to view pic.

Fuel seems to bubble and drip from the little black tube (shown with the yellow arrow) My first question is: what is this and why does it leak?

Fuel also seems to seep down from the location shown by the red arrow. I assume this is from the location marked by the blue arrow. I read on another thread about how to replace the o-rings on that part. I'm wondering if that need to be done here, I assume so.

This is my first tank of ULSD, so at this point I'm blaming it on that. I added some stp diesel treatment today to my 3/4 tank or so in hopes that it would begin to re-lubricate my pump and solve the problem on its own. I'll see how that pans out as I finish this tank.

My main concern is just getting the leaks to stop so I don't waste diesel and get my block even more filthy than it is now, so I guess my point is this: Should i continue to just add lubricants and will it stop itself? or along with that, do I need to replace some o-rings as well?

PLEASE HELP!!!

The leak in red you already know how to fix from reading that thread. The one in yellow is a little more involved, but you can do it yourself.

The little black tube is the AFC vent, fuel is getting in there because the fuel pin seal is leaking. Fixing this will involve removing the pump top and pulling out the AFC lever. The info on installing a 3200 RPM spring will tell you how to get the pump top off.

Use some brake cleaner and air to clean up the pump to determine where all the leaks are coming from. The leak from the back is as Dave said, the AFC pin o-ring leak. The pump top needs to be removed to repair, pump can stay on the truck. The red arrow leak, could be the governor screw o-ring leaking. That's if the leak is truely coming from that screw (which is hard to see as it's close to the timing cover). This would require to remove the pump to fix that leak.

Can't remember what that thing is at the blue arrow. Looks as though it can be reseal with the pump on the truck, and or pump top off. If you are somewhat handy with basic tools, most every leak can be repair by owner at home, saving yourself a ton of $$. You'll need the VE reseal kit, ~$15 from any Bosch distributor/shop. Bosch part number DGK121. www.scheiddiesel.com has them and ships if no Bosch shop nearby.

the red arrow is just indicating where I begin to see the fuel pool up as it comes out from the part marked with the blue arrow. this sounds like work.

i'm having the same problem on the front of the pump. i originally thought it was the ksb inlet (red arrow). pulled and replaced orings, then found out it was from governor screw (blue arrow). now i've gotta pull the pump

what was the initial cause of your leaks? was it ULSD, or just bad o-rings in general.

it seems i've fixed the afc pin leak, might have bumped something when I was in there yesterday. I just took it apart and put it back good today, idled it for minute or so, and revved it up; stayed dry and no drips, before it was drip every 5 seconds at idle. now I have to try the ksb hookup and see if I can fix that one.
