Fuel Injectors for MPG
I'm thinking its about time to freshen up the injectors on the truck. Any recommended injectors for with a good balance between power and economy? I typically get 20 mpg plus and would like to stay that way. I don't have any more mods planned other than whats below for the time being. Is there something other than stock injectors I should take a look at? Or just stick with stock rebuilds?

BOSCH 190's or like 40 horsers off of ebay. DDP3's.....they are all relatively clean running injectors. Good power adders. Thats if you want the both. otherwise rebuild your stockers i'd say.

20mpg?
Well I just got my 92 w 250 and I have heard a bunch of people saying they get 20mpg. Is that interstate driving or just normal everyday driving?? I average about 16. Would my bfg 305-70-16s have anything to do with 4mpg less? Thanks guys this club is awesome
I can say tires have an effect on MPG. When i bought the truck I had BFG commercial T/A's 235/85R16 stock size on there. I would get 20 plus average no problems in the summer with the best ever being just under 24mpg. Winter I would be just under 20mpg and would have a hard time breaking that. Now I have Alcoas with BFG All terrains in 265/75 R16. Mileage just doesn't seem to be as great as it used to be. and now with the injector/boost leak(still trouble shooting) its really in the tank. I think any SRW 1st gen with a 5spd should be able to break 20mpg on the hwy. Keep it at 1700-1900rpms on the hwy thats what works best for me.
Those 305/70R16's are a wide tire and probally have a ton of rolling resistance. something taller and skinnier would probally help. 285/75 R16 maybe a good comprimise. Staying out of thin pedal helps as well.

Don't forget --
Going to a larger tire usually means it's also taller -
That means your EFFECTIVE gearing will be different. taller tires will get slightly better hiway mileage but the engine will work harder to get the truck moving making the in town mileage suffer....
Also, your odo will be off by the difference in the the tire heights.
Stock 235/85R16's are ~ 31.72 tall
My 285/75R16's are wider but also 32.83 tall.
That means I need to multiply my odo reading by 1.035 to get the true mileage traveled. Doesn't sound like much but 400 mi REALLY = 414 miles...
If you used 21.5 gal at 400 mi = 18.6mpg
But at 414 mi = 19.256 mpg

Another angle on effective gearing to consider is your engine speed at cruise vs. wind resistance. The mpg gain going from 70mph down to 65mph can significant if you can match your top gear cruise rpm to somewhere around 1800 at 65mph. That's where the 12v is the most fuel efficient and drag starts becoming less of a factor.
On someone whom gets low mileage measured in their truck...
Have you replaced the Odometer gears? I'd bet he's missing a tooth and it works, but is inaccurate. I went from 14 to 20 when I replaced my gears.
