fuel heater question

fuel heater question

I put a 89 cummins in my 64 crewcab and never gave thought to the fuel heater.Is it wired hot all the time?I wired my fuel shutoff and ksb together and put the grid heaters on a push button.Ive not had any problems winter or summer but forgot about the fuel heater...thanks Jim

The fuel heater recieves voltage from the ignition switch and the power is always on. It has a built in sensor that turns it on or off based on the temperature of the fuel. It is turned on at 43*F(6*C)

wow what a relief, i thought it was going to be much harder then that......ok i have a second question.....there are two prongs on the fuel heater plug in, one will get power from the ignition switch, (which one?) and what do i do with the second prong?

One gets power, the other gets ground.

If you consider the hook for the weatherpak connector to be the bottom, power goes to the left prong.
