FSS trouble

My truck keeps dying then will restart it is definately on the elect. side of things. So I checked the wiring to the fss and seems ok. The wire is hard and stiff for about 4in from the fss do to heat but still has juice when the key is on. Wiggled everything around and couldnt find anything obvious. So does the fss sometimes fail where it will intermittly shut off the fuel and then start to work again? I know they will sometimes get where they wont shutdown but mines not doing that. What do you guys think. Its kinda hard to check out when it doesnt do it all the time.
