FS2500 by-pass filter input?
FS2500 by-pass filter input?
Anyone using either an FS2500 engine or trans by-pass filter in their 1st gen? If so, how do you like it? Also, how much $ do they cost? Their web site is fs2500.com for anyone interested.
It's awsome, get it. I've got 5000 miles on the first filter and I can still read the hatch marks and stamped writing through the oil. My brother inlaws truck, you can't see through it after 1000 miles. I put mine on after I had 1200 miles on the oil and it visably went clearer. If you are using dino juice instead of syntetic, it will darken sooner then the synthetic but it won't get that particulate mud feel to it. It just isn't as physically durable as the synthetic is. Call FS 2500 and talk to Randy. It doesn't effect the soot dispersant package in the oil, it just unloads the soot from the dispersant so it can go back and continue to do it's job. (It's just money.
) You'll love it.

I just installed a bypass system on my engine Friday. I bought it used and it came with a few filters. So, instead of changing oil as I had intended I decided to see how good these filters are. I left the old black oil in the crankcase and am running new filters. It took an additional two quarts to bring the oil up to proper level. I plan on changing oil and filters this week but if it looks like the oil is cleaning up I may put it off for a little while.
All,
Thanks for the input on the FS2500 by-pass filter. Wow, a shade under $500! I guess I will have to pass on it for now
I think I am going with the BMK-11 AMSOIL by-pass filter system, with AMSOIL EaBP-100 filters. Elandon, I will keep Randy and Chris at FS in mind, whenever I decide (have the $) to go the FS route.

That is exactly what I am running. After about 400 miles I have seen a slight color change in the old oil. It was black as tar before I installed the filters, now it looks like strong coffee. If all goes as planned I will be changing the oil and filters this evening. I am running the stock Donaldson ELFoil filter on the full flow side and the Eabp 100 on the bypass. I had to make my own adapter ring to get the Donaldson to work. The EaBP 110 goes on this evening. While I change the oil I will take some pictures and put them in my gallery so you can see my crude installation.
Bypass filters can't be beat. Check out this thread on another site I frequent with a discussion on an oil analysis report from a guy who ran Delo400 in his Cummins with a Frantz bypass for 20,000 miles:

I see somebody found my other post. I emailed him & he will be taking Paypal by the end of the auction. For some reason I forsee myself bidding against several of you here. I wonder why he isn't using a Buy-it-now feature? Maybe I'll mention it to him.
