What’s a good quality bearing?? I had the fronts replaced in May of this year, and I’m gonna have to replace the left side for the second time since September!

I had them changed at a local shop....never again. Everything was supposed to be changed inner, outer races, etc, etc. I’m not sure what is failing?? ( parts or workmanship) I know I’m not going back!

Fwiw,
A lot of shops just throw a new set of bearing cones in, without changing races, because it's fast and easy. Problem is that aftermarket companies are not required to have exacting inner measurements of OEM parts. This means as long as the id of the cone side, and the od of the race are correct, bearing design can vary, by size, number of rollers, cage design, etc.
I bought my Dodge, having an immediate rear wheel bearing issue. The wb was just replaced. They did not match race to cone, and the rollers actually rolled outside the race's inner diameter, riding 20% on air.
Great, eh?
Overtightening, etc... You'll have to disassemble it to find, out why?

I changed the bearings on Saturday! I found the driver side almost dry! The race was rusted onto the spindle. There was very little grease on/in the bearing and none in the inner part of the housing. I also replaced the passenger side, it did have some grease but not much.
Nothing like doing a job yourself!

The bearing was already leaving wear marks on the outside of the race! It had enough grease to say it wasn’t dry and that was it. I’m not understanding how it went from packed with grease in September to having to replace the bearing in December? Oh well...on to the next project 😁

Timkin roller bearings, races and wheel seals are usually my go-to. Napa might have some other acceptable options but with the affordable price of the real deal (timkin invented the tapered roller bearing, after all) there really isn't much of a choice.
