front mounted hitch for a '92
front mounted hitch for a '92
Has anyone put a 2" receiver hitch to the front of the '92 Dodge? Is there a hitch available for this application?

Thanks for the help

Gary
Re:front mounted hitch for a '92
I just bought anough 2" I.D. and cut, stacked and welded them together and welded to the cross piece under the front end. Comes out perfect, just under the bumper. Drill a hole for a pin and your set. Works great.

Mark

Thanks for the info. I was thinkin about the same thing. There are two pieces of metal that run across the frame just in back of the bumper. I was thinkin about welding two pieces for square tubeing to a 2" recei.ver bar. How much did you have to drop the receiver to pass the bumper

midwestdually

Everyone has different reasons but mine is to come off the receiver with a "T" mount to support a canoe. I can't go off the back because I pull a fifth wheel. There are all kinds of accessories you can put up front.
Of course you haven't lived until you pull your boat at 65mph in reverse. LOL

Gary
