Flexplate HELP

I broke my flexplate and I bought and put in this one http://puredieselpower.com/dodge-pro...lex-plate.html
Now my torque converter will not spin by it self to line up the bolts, so I think I need a little spacer in between the bellhouseing and adapter plate. But the really problem is I can not fit the torque converter bolts inbetween the adapter plate and the flexplate. I am about to cut the adapter plate so I have room to fit the bolts cause if i put the spacer in the bellhousing, it will not help any for the bolts. That will only help to keep the torque converter pressure off the pump. So the really questions is how do I make it so I can get the bolts in.

Make sure your torque converter didn't come out of the pump. It will bind up and not turn if it isn't line up with pump properly.

^ What he said. I tore the lugs off of my pump in my trans on an old truck when I didn't do that. Same problem as you.

Like ^^^ he said. From where it naturally rests, you should have to pull the TQ forward a quarter inch or so to bolt it up. If it's jammed, you don't have the slots lined up with the pump.

The bolts are installed through a plug on the right side of the bellhousing below the trans cooler. There are 2 holes, one for the barring tool and one for the convertor bolts.

Is there a 3/4"x16t hole that lines up with the flexplate teeth? I'm looking at a magnetic sensor used with a diesel Tach. It reads the teeth.
Thanks,

I am pretty sure the converter is all the way back , but will drop tranny and double check. Now about the converter bolts, were is this other hole to put the bolts in through. Any have a pic, or were I can find it in the manual. I took mine out from the bottom inspection cover.

Since your dropping the tranny replace the rear main seal for new. Do all the things you can get to as preventive maintenance while the tranny is out

On the right side of the adapter plate there is a plastic plug for the barring tool and inboard of that is a metal cover plate held on by two 10mm head bolts. That is where you bolt and unbolt the torque converter to the flex plate.

Now with that out of the way PATC does make an 1/8" spacer to go in there because with some billet flex plates and triple disc billet cover converters there isn't enough space between the converter and flex plate. But definitely make sure you have the converter all the way in first. There should be two good clunks as you turn the converter while setting it into the trans.

Even though this is for a 47RE, dimensions should be the same.

Looks like the lugs should be below the bell around 3/4" ( 19 MM ) when fully seated.
