finally figured it out,,,,,,
i have been having a heck of a time trying to get my truck to charge right,ive changed every ground lead put a ground straight on the voltage regulator changed the plug on the back og the alternator ,,but still it would stop charging,,,i could tap the black plug on the back and it would charge till you shut it off again,,,come to find out it was the brushes they were wore out and when i was tapping the plug it must have been pushing the field bolts and the brush holder forward enough to make contact,,,,im going to pickup the parts in the morning and ill take lots of pics and let you know how it works out,,,,,good morning every one

yes it feels great,,my truck feels reliable again,,,i found the brushes for my truck online for 26 dallors,,,but found them at an electric motor rebuilders about 25 minutes from my home for 6 dallors ems electronics great place,,,i took some pics of how worn mine was and how easy it was to change ill try to post them in a few...thanks guys for all the info and help...
