Thumbs up Finally broken in

Well the truck has just turned over 205,000miles...I think it is finally starting to break in...my idle has picked up a few rpm.
Its our 1 yr Anniversary and it hasn't cost me a thing or let me down once. I love this beast!

Talking CTD history

Just about 20K in one year. (started with 152)
Both rear seals have been replaced, light bulbs-(dash/body) battery, 2-front tires, serpintine belt, front brake pads, filters/reg. lube, valve adjust/gaskets. I drive my Ram daily do 145-mile round trip weekends. Injector pump had a leak, then the leak went away. See my profile for fuel mileage. So far it's been a great rig! Patrick.

I don't count regular wear items or routine maintenance as "costing" me anything. As far as leaving me stranded or unforeseen part failure..."knock on wood"...I have been very pleased with the performance of the old beast.

Thumbs up

You Guys are still driving baby's! That Cummins won't loosen up and run good until you pass 350,000 miles!!! I've got 1,083,000 hard working, towing miles on my 93 D350 and it just keeps running better!!!!!!

Yer ____ me....I tell people about that many miles on a Cummins and I am sure they look at me like I am feeding them a line. This is all on the same motor?..no rebuild?

Heard that story before, Boomer, and I believe ya. At the rate I drive my tuck will be 100 and some years old before it hits 1,000,000. Hmm, wonder what'll wear out first, the engine or the body

When I bought mine it had 221K on the non-functioning Speedo.
There isn't even a plug on the wiring harness to plug into the speed sensor...

She runs like a scalded dog though...so,I'm thinkin'221K + is nicely broken-in...

311,000 km thats just about 200,000 miles and the truck still handles like it did the day it was pre-delivered. Purchaced the unit from my father in law and was there to help him when he picked it out. I suggested a 5 spd but he woudnt budge on the auto. It took 13 years to get my way and he is still upset about the autos demise. Plan on keeping the truck for at least another 15-20 years. The only complaint is the poo-poo paint, and that will be delt with as soon as spring brings my tax return.
