Factory tach? Where to get something like it...?

I have seen some pics of the factory/dealer add on tach. Where can you get one that is around the same size/look? I found them on the isspro site but I think I read they are only 2-1/16"? That seems kinda small, I was hoping for something a little bigger. If I can come across a factory one, whats a fair price to pay for it?

Thanks,
Jason

Here's a question for you factory tach equipped owners: How does the factory route the wiring from where its mounted on the dash? Do they run the wiring behind the windshield or A pillar? My plan is to buy the Isspro R5503 Tachometer and mount it in the similair configuration as to the factory one. Any close-up pics would be helpful.

The wires for ther factory tach go right through the dash. There are three wholes: 2 for the bolts to mount and one for the wires to go through. I personally do not have mine mounted there.

I have a question now, If you have an Autometer tach for say a car, could you wire it for a diesel? and the wire thats needed for the signal wire hook it to the tach signal wire in the harness and then just wire the rest like you would normally, and then cut the wire in the back to make it read for a 6 cyl.?

It would work(mine did) as long as the tach would read the 5v signal.

BC847,

I have read your article many times actually........... I plan to "mirror" what you did, with the exception of using a trans temp gauge instead of a tach. I plan to later buy the Isspro R5503 tach and mount it in the same factory-style configuration (corner of dash top). Does Isspro or any other companys sell a mounting pedistool for the R5503 and similiar models? I definiately like this setup.
