Factory Tach on Ebay

They are at it again, another crazy priced tachometer. Looks pretty nice for a factory tach.

I'v been lookin for one of those for a while now and they all seem to go for more then what they are worth. Where is the plug for the tach under the dash I can't seem to find it?

Also what would be the best way to get it in the dash. Almost looks like you have to disconnect the wire to get it on the dash. Is buying an isspro better then getting an oem at a decent price?

That's why I don't even bother to consider EPay as a parts source.

factory tachs have always been junk, save your money for way less than that you can get a pillar with a tach and 2 other guages that is actually accurate.

Shoot, I have gotten most all the parts I needed for my 1st Gen from Ebay. All at great deals and just what I needed. If you look long enough and have patience, you can find it.

Although, I wouldnt pay that much for a Tach factory or not.

Yep, that's the key. eBay is great - IF you know how to use it. I'd say about 70% of the stuff out there (at least in the automotive and computer categories that I frequent) is either overpriced junk and/or some kind of scam. But OTOH, if you have the time to sort through it, know how to craft good searches and keep regular watch, there are some really good bargains to be had.

Then you gotta watch out for the bid scammers and outright crooks that will just take your money and disappear. I'm involved with a situation where it looks like this person is running some sort of money order scam. They delay shipment and complains about all kinds of problems. Then they offer a refund after the 30 day eBay period expires and (claim) they send you a money order, which of course you never receive. The post office is investigating.

EBay. What a concept. Be careful.

I bought a $20 item 2 years ago and it never did show up. Trace on the money order would have cost an additional $20. Contacted everyone from the local magistrate to the FBI and unless it's a big $ item nobody is interested in helping you. Use PayPal. And watch out for the ones in the shipping business - $5 item and $25 shipping costs! OK, end of rant. Right now someone is digging thru his wardrobe frantically digging for his "FOOL" shirt so he can put it on and bid on it!!
