Exhaust question
Not sure if anyone's fits the best...
Stans headers makes a mandrel bent 4" down pipe, expect to pay the premium price for it though. I have not heard of any other company building a true 4" turbo back exhaust.

If its a 4x4 good luck getting 5inch around the TC!! Otherwise, riprook(source automotive), or Stan's are the only 2 people that build full 4in exhaust for 1st gen's.
There's one company, bigexhaust.com, that has 4in from the downpipe back.

There's a big mounting boss used for some other application on the pass side of the transfer case that makes it very tight getting a 4" tube past there. I'd look at cutting that off if I was building from scatch. That's what I'll do if mine ever has to come down. It would give you an extra inch of much needed clearance and allow the pipe to be installed so it will not touch anything.
http://www.dieselperformancesystem.com/ Try here I got mine from them fits pretty good I still need 4" down pipe and have placed an order with Stan's

I may be looking in the wrong place, but I don't see the exhaust for our trucks on www.bigexhaust.com anymore.
Sorry to hijack, but going from stock straight pipe to a 4", would muffler or no muffler be closer to the volume of what I have now? And also, does it change the tone much? Thanks,

Stan's Headers told me that using the Donaldson he recommends actually flows better than going straightpipe on our trucks. And he knew I was not buying a system from him, so I don't think he was blowing smoke. They know their stuff there.
You can allways give Rip Rook a call at source automotive in Portland Oregon. That's where I got mine from the turbo back. Fits great. Or look him up and check prices. Sourceautomotive.biz
I went to a 4" straight pipe from a 3" straight pipe and it actually got QUIETER in the cab. Not sure about outside, as I was never outside it with the 3" pipe on it. G/F drove it a time or two with the 4" and it sounded awesome. 92 sounds even better with its 4" pipe, though I havent gotten the pieces to make the 4" DP.

Not to steal the post, but I have a quick question that is related. At http://www.stans-headers.com/diesel.htm, what is JUST the 4" down-pipe for our first generations? Is it the 1902 or the 1929/1901 part numbers? Please forgive my stupidity.
