exhaust housing

Son got a 12cm housing for his stock turbo. After 17 years the old housing doesn't want to let go. Anybody have a good trick to getting the old 18 off.

turbo is on the bench now, been spraying pb blaster on it with no luck yet.

TIA

Got the 4 bolts out?

I just did mine a few days ago.

I sprayed it down and then just starting smacking the exhaust housing with a hammer, rotate 1/4 turn, smack...rotate, smack. Don't worry about hurting the housing...and eventually it popped...maybe 5 minutes of this.

What subliminal said. Lay it on its side on a sturdy bench or the floor, and go around the circumference of the old exhaust housing with a 3lb hammer or so. It will start to walk right of, strange as it may seem.
