The auto truck, I put the stock pin back in turned to the shallow side, still smokes over 15psi of manifold.

I'm thinking the IC might be leaking

nope,

93's had the 18.

91.5 and 92 had the 21cm, late 92 they got rid of the 18 because of low power complaints and brought the 18 back.

even when the 92 with 21cm is just idling, if you floor it, it takes forever to rev up.

Hey, not forever... just a while.

I still need to put the 16cm housing that's sitting in my toolbox on the truck...

Starwheel all the way up, still smokes way too much for my taste and the driveability is not so good, very soft on the bottom end, but after boost builds, it runs the same, just takes longer to build the boost. I went a quarter turn at a time too. I have milled the inside of the AFC cover (milled the ring, and machined the center so the nut could ride up into the cover higher) so my Power pin will ride up as far as possible without the fuel pin riding UNDER the power pin. I have adjusted the fuel screw out (less fuel) until it wount run other than at Idle (pull it in gear and it bucks like a mule) I had the same smoke with the Stock Power pin as well. Timing is 1/8" advanced, however I have not actually measured it, and do not know the history of this engine prior to my ownership. I live in California, and in the San Francisco Bay area. I am just waiting for my "Complaint letter" from the DMV.
I know "too much" smoke is relative, the Kid at the Market thinks my truck is awesome, and he loves the smoke. I am a little older, and dont want, or need it.
It's your injectors causing the haze.

[QUOTE=Crossy's son;2522748]Its very hard to clear smoke up when you have any kinda of fuel pin.

I respectfully disagree. I laid out the stock pin and the Ol' Smokey pin and the curve is actually leaner on the Smoky up through about 50% of the travel, then richens up very quickly. Besides, it behaves about the same (smoke wise) with either Pin. And I have checked my intercooler and piping. All good there. The truck runs fantastic when the Starwheel is down, almost too good!
