eviro safe refridgerant?

Has anyone used this? It says hydrocarbon based, so I am assuming propane is in it. It is a drop in replacement for R-12.

For me it looks as though I do not need a licence to buy it or use it. I'm tired of being ripped off trying to get my air working properly. So I'm ready to dive into it myself. I'll have to take it somewhere to get the 134 out of it, sure tempting to have a little leak though.

Get it reclaimed, change the oil in the compressor and put 'freeze12' in it. our trucks use 3 cans...it is used at 80%. Still need a license to buy it but it works better than R12 and way better than 134a.

Also HOT SHOT R-414B is a drop in replacement for R12 and you don't have to change anything.

I joined a refrigerant forum and guys on there rant and rave about how awesome it is, like the guys that charge up a/c units and fridges in liquor stores..

I've been using it for a couple yrs, no issues to date works well and I have Ice cold AC, you dont have to change the oil, maybe add some if its low or had an oil leak also having the old freon reclaimed is a good idea (enviromentally)

No i'm on hvac-talk.com

Heres there discussion about R-414 Hot shot... Its $16/ oz. and can probably be found cheaper. it hooks right up to R12... theres a good a/c store on ebay that HAS EVERYTHIHG

I cant wait to get some and try it.

Or you guys know you could just buy old fashioned R12 off ebay....... you have to tell them its for "resale only" and you can buy it. if you live in wisconsin your screwed though .lol

$16/oz? That's a lot of dinero for freon! The freeze12 is only $12 per
16oz can.

I'm sorry i meant 16$ for a 12oz can.

well its a tradeoff because freeze 12 is actually a conversion and you have to have different fittings and different oil, just like converting to r134.

Hotshot r414b is used by professionals to charge up older fridge units in like deli's and liquor stores and stuff. its plug and play.

My auto AC guy told me to 'drop it in' just like the r12 that came out. Haven't had any problems 'til now...found a leak, fixed it and got a 'great deal' on some mexican r12...what a mistake! It takes forever to get cool and won't sustain cool when at a light or just sitting!
