Engine oil cooler
Hey guys my heat exchanger arrived from American cooling solutions so now I have that and my Engine oil cooler do you guys use anything with the 2 gaskets for the oil cooler or are they supposed to be installed dry? Lately for my transmission pan gaskets and other gaskets I've been favoring high tack gasket sealant or aviation gasket sealer. Haven't been getting a drop sneaking passed, but I'm gonna replace both of em at the same time hopefully sometime in the next month just for preventive maintenance because they're both the original cooler and original exchanger.

Every time I've made the decision to install a gasket dry with no added sealant it has leaked within short order and requires me to do the job AGAIN, so now I always install them with a some sort of sealant.

I did an oil pan gasket twice on '93 Corolla. I used RTV on the gasket even though it said don't. I squished round and leaked twice. I can't remember if I went back dry, or just went RTV only.
