engine bay wiring

just wondering what the best way to improve the engine bay wiring would be. im pulling the block to get it cleaned and checked over. while its out i want to do as much as possible to improve the wiring or at least get it back to original. the previous owner had a lot of jumpers and trailer wiring and other stuff. is there a place to get a new harness? should i redo everything myself...is that crazy?

On my truck, I installed a single-pin junction block underhood that I use to power all my add-ons, because I can't stand having a bunch of random aftermarket wiring attached to my battery terminals. All my aftermarket wiring has its own inline fuses, all in the same location coming off my junction block. The junction block recieves its power from a 4 ga. cable that comes from the power dist. box. I know a 1st gen doesn't have that, so I would tap in down at the starter for a clean look.
