Question Electrical Schizophrenia

So My 92 cummins has been experiencing some thing of the wired lately.
all electrical components stopped working in a rain storm a few weeks ago, and now the oil light comes on when I open the door, the engin shuts off when the door is closed
the lights and the wipers don't work, the radio does every now and then and when i drive it the starting gage lights flicker as if the motion of the truck affects some wireing some where???
I heard that grounds can cause some funky things to happen, but i don't know where to start.
any suggestions?
could it be the computor unit?
any advise would be great

Check the Bulkhead conector on the firewall. Take it apart and make sure its dry/no corrosion.

I don't mean to laugh but this post really cracks me up! Don't you just love Chrysler wiring! I have driven Chrysler products for 30 years now, and just about every stinking (lovely, really) one of them had some electrical demon or another, except my '68 Hemi Road Runner, but it only had 24,000 original miles, and our '93 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Even our 2002 Jeep has wiring probs!

I feel your pain, believe me. Please let us know what you find, it's a good one for the tech book!

I had a bad "ground" for the longest time at the battery itself. Despite the 3/4 inch cables going to the battery, they were worn through and corroded to the point that a lot of periphery stuff wasn't even making contact. I had to trim the last 3 inches off of the cable and give the battery a good scrubbing.

Dude, at least it's better than British wiring.

I used to try to troubleshoot wiring problems on an 1988 Jaguar... I mean, that car had wires going places and doing things that didn't even follow the laws of electronicity.

I agree, Lucas ignition was the worst. Even a BSA motorcycle I had was a nightmare.

But Mothers wiring has always been pretty bad.
