egt ok?

Hello, well after turning the fuel cone 90 degrees and the starwheel 1/4 turn I decided to install the pyro before heading to the racetrack. I tow a 22ft enclosed trailer with a 3500lb bracket car. (6500lb) Running 65 my egt's were around 900. This seems a little high to me, what do you think? I still have the factory exhaust on it though. I tried all I could to get the egt's close to the 1200 mark but couldnt do it. I guess its time to add more fuel Later

I think your EGT's at cruise will be unaffected by pump settings because the engine will get the right abount of fuel to balance out the particular load you're carrying. You might need more AIR though.

well, I think the mods helped a little down low but it doesnt seem as big of a difference as it does with no load. I'm still a little disapointed in the top end performance when towing. I have to floor the truck to do 70mph, I dont know if its the automatic tranny or the gov kicking in but it is a little disapointing. But I cant complain about the 14mpg I get when towing. I will try turning the fuel cone to the deepest setting and turning the fuel screw in when I can swing new exhaust. I hope that helps a little more. LATER

Do you get full travel on the throttle linkage? That's the number one reason for low power/top speed on these trucks.

900 degrees pre-turbo is no problem. You can hold 1200 all day without damage if the cooling system doesn't overheat.

hello wannadiesel, yes the throttle linkage has full travel but I found out my afc fuel pin is stuck. I tried every penetrating oil I could find. Soaked it all day with no luck. I dont know what to try next. But I am guessing that has a lot to do with my high end power loss. Thanks
