Arrow The Bigger---the Better

Stock down-pipe is three inch.

As most things go, that is pretty big to begin with.

The bigger/free-er-flowing the exhaust is, the lower the EGTs will be; BUT, don't expect dramatic differences.

Jumping up an inch in diameter might be good for 15* or 20*.

I already been through all that and my EGTs still climb scary high.

a SP, or aftermarket system will lower it anywhere form 50 to 100 degrees, i suggest a muffler, if you drive a lot

I just swiss-cheesed my air box, helped bring my cruising EGT's at 65 from 600 to down around 525-550. I also have 3" exhaust to the back of the cab feeding into a 4" for about 2 feet, 90* 4" feeding into a 5" Y-pipe in the bed and then....read my sig. My fuel pin is turned t the deepest point, power screw maxed out and no AFC spring. Makes for alot of smoke.

Hope this helps

Jon

I dropped 75-100deg by going to a full 4" pipe on my 91. I only have 4" from the transmision back on my 92, so I didnt notice any real difference. I think you will see a bigger difference if you are silghtly to highly over fuelled for your turbo/ fuelling setup.

Some but not enough to use all the power all the time. Is this a hard working tow rig or a play toy?
