I would attribute it to the fact that the other truck had been wrecked and the pic was taken in the snow so you know it had some effects from road salt

I feel like the part that makes a 1st gen a "HOLY GRAIL" truck is one statment, (always been in the south, never in the snow) that alone would make me give twice the money.

Yeah, I agree with Dar. Rust is a big deal on these 20+ year old vehicles. Some guys look for 4X4, 5-speeds, clubcabs...the first thing I look at is rust, how much and where. I prefer original paint if possible (even if it's not in great shape) that way there's nothing being hidden by fresh paint. Your truck had the makings to sell for good money IMO, 5-speed, 3:07 gears, 4X4, original rust free truck. I hope the guy calls when it gets in Kansas, I'd drive 2 hours to see it.
