My early Christmas Present

I just got my early Christmas Present that I am going to use this Saturday Oct. 22, 2011

I am going to the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana Ca.
And I get to drive one of these, for 26 laps.

At speeds up to 150 MPH.

I will have plenty of pictures of this day, including the video from an in car video camera.

I am so excited...

Jim

Sounds like fun, but then how will you feel about climbing back into the old 1st Gen?

I thought this would be another enhancement to Jim's unbelievable 1st gen, actually disappointed that it's "just" a ride in a race car

on the 26th lap I'd push it past 150mph for sure.... unless they govern it at 150...

That's pretty much the most amazing present, wow.

This will not be my first time, I got to race 16 laps for my Birthday/ Fathers Day back in June.

Auto Club Speedway (Old Fontana Raceway) is one of the largest tracks being a 2.0 mile "D" oval my car was strong and I was running against the rev limiter on the straights pushing 150 MPH about 100 yards off Turn-4 for a short sprint before taking Turn-1 around 100 MPH.

It is all in the throttle, once you are in 3rd gear you go from 85 MPH to 150 depending on how well you can drive and how far you push the gas.

Even on the straight away you have to counter steer to fight the torque of the engine, everything you learned about driving doesn't apply here.

Sounds sweeeeet! Jim. I took the Keith Code Superbike School with my then-new 1993 CBR900RR at Road America in WI. It was entirely too much fun. That was only 127 hp at the rear tire...
cheers,
Douglas

Lots of horsepower and awsome traction gave me the perfect experience.

I am waiting for the DVD with the in car video so I can post some laps but I just wanted to let you know I survived, I will post more in a few but first I wanted to tease you.
