Christmas present to myself

Not exactly by choice though...

Picked my truck up from the tranny shop today, i sent it in to find out what was causing the converter to not lock. I ended up with a complete rebuild , a Heavy duty converter ( they guaranteed me i could not break it , we will see about that) New VB with a shift kit in it, and a few other internal tweaks , as well as a new lockup solonoid and a new TPS.

It cost me alot of money that i don't really have right now , but was it ever worth it , nice firm shifts , the torque actually makes it to the ground now too.

Did you go with the TCS converter?
Funny how even though the trans is the best money spent it seems the hardest

I ended up with a Billet converter from (i can't remember the name of the company right now) My tranny guy had been to a seminar on that TC this spring , and he got me a smokin deal on one, like 1000$ less than list price (which was close to 2k), so i went with it , the guaranteed me i could not break it, and if i do , they will give me another one , or buy me a different one of my choice, i don't see how i could go wrong.

I love it already , i got a shift kit thrown in while i was in there , makes a big difference in itself. I don't like it was much on slick roads now that shift into second and even third can throw the truck sideways pretty easy when it breaks the tires loose.

My xmas gift to me was a new radiator (unexpected item), HTT manifold (stock was warping bad & leaking), new south bend clutch (stock was losing it's grip), and some DD2 injectors..just for fun.

kinda expensive gifts, but hey, I'm single.........

Now, if I can just figure out how to get the ujoint strap bolts out without damaging or removing the yoke, I'll be fine. oh yeah, new carrier bearing will be needed.
