Dyno'd my truck today

I was bored at work today so I decided to toss the truck on the dyno to get a baseline before I start modding it. The truck is a innercooled 91, 1-ton. It has 230,000 miles. I just bought the truck a week ago, to the best of my knowledge the only things done to it are a K&N, no muffler, and I am thinking someone has turned up the fuel. The best numbers were 191hp and 422ftlb or torque. Does this seem high/low, on par? Thanks for looking!

A stock first gen usually makes about 135hp and 360 ft/lbs on our dynojet.

I guess my old beater is doing ok then. Our Dyno Jet is very comparable to the others in my area, hp number wise.

Some prior owner has done a little tweaking on the injection pump to get that at the wheels. I changed to a 16cm2 turbo housing, bumped up the pump, stiffened the A518 auto and got to 191/491 on the Dynomax.

Have fun with it.

Oh I plan on having fun. I bough the truck to have fun. I was pretty happy with my baseline numbers. My problem is the truck runs great, just seems to be leaking fluids from every stinking place it can be leaking from. I know the truck has tons of miles left in her but I am thinking of pulling her to rering, bearing and cam her. I will also O ring the head and block plus port the head.

My non intercooled 91 with a K&N and 16 cm housing as the only mods, dynoed at 165 hp and 366 ft lbs at the rear wheels.
I need to dyno again and see where I'm at after the mods I've done.

Either it is not mentioned or I am missing it. Is your truck an auto or a gutbag tranny? 135 RWHP is about normal for a stock auto. I've heard about 145 for the manual tranny.

Ive got one at my shop. Not that it will help you, (Im in Wichita Falls Texas), we charge $85 dollars if you plan on tunning on it or $50 for 3 pulls.

It sounds like you already got the bomb bug
I wonder how fast my truck would be if it only weighed 6500
Im sure you will be getting even bigger numbers in no time
Good luck
