Dyno results

Well, we put the old girl on the rollers last weekend. I ended up with 321/866. was not real impressed with the hp, but the torque made me feel a little better. Stomp rode in the truck for the second run on the rollers to see if he could figure out why the hp was low and feels that the stock lift pump is running the ip low on fuel at the top end.so we will try the piston pump to see if it helps.I put the ddp stage 4's in, and the ht62/14.last week so the #'s should have been higher. we will try to get it on the rollers in the next couple of months to see if we progress or go backwards.

First of all congrats on the numbers. Try a run on a Dynojet Dyno - I'll bet you gain at least 30 RWHP. Mustang dynos allow for too much operator input. As an example I lost over 40 RWHP on Fast Specialities dyno over other dynos. Just 1 month later in Meridian ID I ran 378 as opposed to 331 in Vancouver. Just my .02 worth.

I think everyone had the same thing to say about this dyno. It gave everyone lower numbers than what they are used to getting. we will see what the differnce is on another dyno. By the way, where have you been Bob. thought you had fallen off the end of the earth or something. nice to hear from you again. and thank's for the compliment.

Well after riding in your pickup I sure wouldn’t want to line up against it that’s for sure. That thing flat gets up and goes. Poor guys running the dyno thought it was a stock pickup the first go round. They didn’t strap it down good enough and when the turbo lit it went sideways on the dyno. I thought it was coming off. That frigging turbo lights lightning fast

On the dyno it was apparent that it would fall flat on its face at about the 2700rpm mark. I believe that it was running out of fuel on the top end. The piston style lift pump should cure that problem.

On a side note I think you need to take your top off of the pump again and check to see how far the fuel screw will move the tension lever that controls the control sleeve. I have seen allot of different ones and some of them don’t move the control sleeve that much. The control sleeve is the sleeve that closes the port on the head/rotor. The more it is closed the more fuel it sends to the injectors. Is this making sense????

Ahhh heck just give me a call one of these days and I will go over everything with you. Its not even making sense to me. I have been working to much overtime my brain is fried

I'm interested to see what it does on a Dynojet, too. That's what my numbers are from.

I don't know that the piston lift pump is going to cure the low HP. My curves drop off at 2700, too. Might just be the POD's/not enough timing holding me back there, though.

The dtt is doing real well Glen. Now that it has dried out a little here I can do a little testing. The old girl spins the tires at 60 on wet pavement so that doesnt work to well. We dont really know what the problem is yet Dave, but stomp said that the boost was at 40 psi up to 2700, then it dropped off real fast. so we will start off with a lp and go from there. I do know that this 62/14 likes to lite off real hard. it scared the heck out of the guy doing the dyno.I will see if I can figure out how to post that video for you guy's.

First to answer your question as to where I've been Tim. I've been putting my truck back together after it was "T" boned on the I205 bridge back on Halloween morning. No one was hurt and the damage was mostly cosmetic but fairly extensive.

Right now I'm looking at a dyno sheet from Piers 1 st Gen day - after you put in the 3200 GSK Tim - I see a nice straight line from 2400 RPM right up to 2700 RPM where it starts to drop off. It holds right at 361 RWHP and then drops off to about 330 RWHP at 3000 RPM's before Mark let up on the fuel. I can can calculate the torque at about 825. This run was on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno - my personal favorite dyno to run on. BTW I am running a Piston lift pump.

Got whipped by a Dufamax a couple of weeks back it's hard to beat technology. Other than that things are going good. Well as good as they can. Guess it's time to go and spend some more money on some gofast goodies. I talked to a tuner shop in town that has a dyno that I need to visit to figure out what South bend clutch to buy when I rebuild the Getrag in a few months. Hopefully It'll last at least the summer. Keep in touch. Jethrro

The easiest way for me to describe riding in that truck is putting a matchbox car on the floor... then KICKING it!

Its FUN. Definately glad I talked him into the 'free' power his pump had there ready and waiting for him.
