dual VE's
thanks jayers. i figured that equal lines are a must, what i was going to do was run both lines the same length all the way right before the injector then single them about an inch or 2 from the injector. or would making them T together right after the pumps be better? i also found an easier way besides the long belt or gear to gear. use the stock gear-gear on the main pump then out of the oil fill make a spacer thats also threaded and key'd so you can tighten the stock gear but also bolt a pulley on to it (keep in mind i wont have a manual fan) then make a bracket off the timing case and use the same size pulley on the 2nd pump and a short belt.

hey-Hey!!!,
As I understand it, the big benefit to the VE over a P7100 is its mechanical advance. If I had to get to that power level with the excellent driveability a VE offers I think I'd want to rig a centrifugal advancer for a P7100 drive instead.
cheers,
Douglas

I would think that it would be best to tee the lines together closer to the pump. That way it is easier to keep the lines exactly the same legnth. I also think that it will make it look a little less cluttered. Just my.02

T'in the lines closer to the pump would be simpler but that is truly up to you. Either way you should be able to get he pumps exactly synchronized. All it takes is two dial gauges in the timing ports of both pumps.

I think that a T closer to the injector, or even directly into the injector with a Y connection... i don't think 12 lines will look bad, equal length would be a challenge with pumps in stock location. Maybe modify a second set of stock lines so they reach the 2nd pump without any guess work.
i like the simple idea of the T close to the pumps but 12 lines would be like "Whoa!" when i pop the hood. i wonder how id be able to make a 2nd set of stock lines reach the 2nd pump. and Jayers, the dial gauges sounds like a great idea, but do you guys think id need to advance both pumps a tooth considering how much fuel this will be? that way it'd give the fuel more time to burn?
i like the idea of a custom billet timing case with another spot for the second ve with an idler gear in between the two, that way its all sooked in oil. and 12 chrome lines t'ed directly onto the injector, both have a timing advance spacer from always working, now just do it, haha
ok good, the line situation is what i was really worried about. i got the 01 goin so im gunna start tearin into the 1st gen. here's what ive thought of for a spacer on the main pump so u can keep the stock gear and run the pulley also. its either this or put the three nuts on a bolt so they're straight, weld them together and run the bolt thru the front instead of having a nut hold the pulley on. i think doin that way would be easier to keep everything straight instead of whats in the pic
