south bend does, they have to be for the 1 1/4 input shaft thou, no one makes an 1 3/8 input shaft for the getrag as of yet.

i wouldnt worry about breaking the imput shaft on a getrag, id spend more time figuring out how to upscale the tiny timpkin bearings in the counter shaft.

Anyone got a picture of this shaft, I been running/programming a CNC lathe for years. Made plenty of shafts for the aerospace industry, dont think A tranny shaft would be that hard. We cut the splines and gears at our shop too.

Also what would need to be done to upgrade the bearings that are spoken of.

Thanks for the info.

yeh i just blew mine apart again yesterday and id love for someone to figure it out. its when there is a massive load on the coutershaft that the gears naturaly want to push away from each other. and being there is only one counter shaft with 1" timkin bearings that are shimmed, it just doesnt hold. when the bearing fails, the shaft falls down and when it pops out of gear from being out of alignment and you shove it back in, all hell breaks loose. if there was a way to put a ball bearing instead of a tapered bearing in there it would greatly improve its depend abilty, ball bearings can take more of a flex and more of a load in this situation. so if you could find a bearing that fits this shaft, and machined the case to fit it and either thread or machine the shaft for snap rings, it might work. personaly i think the whole shaft need to be scrapped and build it bigger.
