DRW to SRW conversion

OK tired of bent dually wheels, tired of burning up 6 tires at a time, I am going to convert to single wheel.

Are the front Dana 60s the same? can I just buy hubs and rotors for the front axle? are the spindles and stub shafts the same? any help is appreciated.

Dana 80 single wheel for the rear, gearing won't work to use the GM 14 bolt.

If you keep bending wheels.... quit hitting curbs

Yes I believe you can change your front rotors.

Isn't the 14 bolt a cab and chassis narrow dually axle?

Can't be curbs, I don't live in no stinkin city!!! ditches maybe, besides I only crash motorcycles. I have 2 sets of wheels for this thing, not 6 true ones in the bunch.

The 14 bolt was used in 3/4 ton up GM trucks.

Ha ha i dont think there ever has been a set of factory wheels made that has been true and this comes from owning and drivin almost nothing but duallys(ford,GMs, and dodges).

My question is will the wheels you put on the front run on the rear. im not sure how the dodge and GM a 8lug singles transfer back and forth.

There is no difference in wheels on a single set up, front and rear are the same.

BTW, moving back to the Austin area soon, this sorry assed state (Colorado) just charged me $267 to put plates on my truck!!!!!

nope no more they have changed that law in texas it now reads in the inspection handbook that if equipped with a turbo it must also have a muffler. There are still a few who will pass it without but its getting few by the day. where is Red Rock by the way?

Yes, all you have to change is the hubs and rotors. I don't know if you meant buying them new or junkyard, but they are not cheap. You could reuse your dually rotors, but you'll have to drill the 8 holes out larger to fit the wheel studs.

The spindles, lockouts, stub shafts, bearings, etc are all the same on DRW and SRW.

I'm assuming you have 3.55 gears if a 14 bolt won't jive

Red Rock is 55 miles East/Southeast of Austin, near Bastrop.

I still have a couple friends who do inspections. Another trick is to take a HD truck muffler, slide it over the pipe and weld the ends to the straight pipe, looks legal with no flow loss!!! I do it with catalytic converters on my Camaro.
