drove a second gen tonight

My step father is selling a 94 2500 ctd for a friend of his. The truck only has 133,000 miles and he would not have any rest till I took it for a ride. When I got in I rembered wht I love my first gen. I just hate the dash and the instrument cluster. The truck drove nice but I was surprised when I floored it I know that my truck would smoke it. Then he asked me if I wanted to trade and I just laughed and told him he better have alot of cash to give along with the truck!!!! He would not belive me that I could sell my truck for more that he is asking for that one. Even standing back looking at the two trucks parked side by side my truck is so much better looking. Sorry just had to tell you guys that.

Out of curiosity (and not interest), what is he trying to get for it?

He is askin 4500. I did not post this to try to sell the truck for him just to remind us our trucks are better.

I feel the same way. I'd pay more than that for a nice 1st gen any day of the week.

I gave $5800 for my 96 in 06 and $6000 for my 92 in 02 both 10 years old and the 96 was stock with 265k and in rough shape and the 92 was stock and had over 300k but was almost perfect. I drove the 92 every day till I put the Allison in it but plan to go back to another NV4500 so I can pass teck at the sled pulls. My 92 is a lot hotter than most but cant keep up with my 96 down the street but will pull almost as good when it had a 5spd, 1st gens have a lot more botton end.

Get under the hood and try to work on that 2nd gen, you will really love your 1sg gen then.
Have been fixing some stuff on my dads 98 and 02, you need to be a contortionist with 6' long arms to work on that dang thing.

IIRC 94-95 were still rated at 160hp stock just like 1st gens correct?

160hp with an auto and 175hp with a 5spd. 96-98 had 180hp auto and 215hp manual

when I drove it last night I floored it from one street to the next and it hit 55 in the stretch I had. Tonight I did the same thing in my truck and I hit 65 no problem. I knew mine was faster. Hehehehehe.
