dropping out of overdrive...Why?

My truck recently started dropping out of overdrive, mostly around 55 mph. My TPS voltage is .45V at idle and 3.45V at WOT. I had a problem with this several months ago and adjusted the TPS to these settings and it fixed the problem until recently. Everything else seems to work fine. Any ideas as to what else I can check?

You can try adjusting the kickdown linkage. http://dens-site.net/Dodge_CTD/Kickdown_Adjustment/

I think low tranny fluid can cause uneccesary shifting.

Finally seem to have solved my problems with this same thing.

List of items changed..

Voltage Regulator
TPS
Trans Speed Sensor
Rear axle speed sensor

Now everything is working just fine

Rich

PS also had a bad ground that was causing problems, I believe it was a ground from body to engine

Well, I made a minor voltage adjustment to the TPS and drove it about 25 miles. So far its doing fine. The thing sure is touchy. I only made a .25 voltage increase.

The tps can be a pain. I always seemed to be adjusting now and then. It is like it gets dirty inside, make a change and all good again. I would even adjust low and then back to normal setting to fix the problem sometimes.

When I did my fuel pin I had to adjust the tps, Did the gov. spring and did the tps again, Did the injectors and did it again, did the turbo and, well you get the picture. Dont know why, but with every upgrade that I do, I have to adjust the tps. But that't ok, I sure do love the power.
