drivers side power window motor
The right side works fairly well but the drivers side not so much. The original power lift motor was changed years ago because it just stopped and the replacement worked marginally and now this one did the same thing. The glass isn't binding in the track as I can pull it up and push it down. Is there another problem or is the motor just junk ?
Where is the best place to get a rebuilt that will work ? thanks.

You can find new replacements at rockauto. I have found that everything inside the door needs to be pretty good, or some binding can happen. Pulling up on the window with your hands is one thing, pushing it up with the motor is another. This might help some:

My '89 just had problems with the gear loosing a bunch of its teeth on the window motor.
I pulled a spare off another '89 junk door and put it on.

So I go to put in the new window lift motor in my 92 and have a heck of a problem disconnecting the regulator and find out it is severally RUSTED and binding to the point I had to beat it with a hammer to collapse it enough to get it out of the door. SO the old motor is probably alright. I should have taken it apart first as it would have saved me the price of a new motor. Live and learn I guess.

Yeah, that was kind of what I was getting at above and I don't have to worry about rust where I live. Contact Oliver, I bet he just might have a good one for you. I am not sure, but I believe that the door mechanism is the same back to '83 Dodge pickups. I know that Oliver Knows and that's all I need to know. Wow, that's a knowsy post, I'm sorry. ...Mark

I also did the Napa deal, they had two, HAD being the key word, I took em both. I too exuded numerous; statements, outburst, rants, $hitfits, & lapse of normal thoughts, while spending an awesome day in 90 degree heat! Be careful!!!! These old doors are flimsy!! Do not, put a lot of weight on them when open, they will droop. Mine is a 1989 W250 & it sure is anyway.
