Door speakers.

6 X 9 front door speakers are shot. I'm into the doors anyway servicing window regulators. Any suggestions for budget decent replacements?

Just bought these a few months back. Freaking awesome for what you pay for them. You wouldn't believe the size of the magnet in the rear of these were. Double the factory sized unit.

Clear, decent bass and I'd buy another in a heartbeat..

Gave them a 5 star review as well.....

I threw in the Wal-Mart Pioneers. They seem adequate. Nice crisp mid and highs. Old folks need that.

this might help too. I have put good ($125ish) speakers in with a stock radio and they sounded like crap until I upgraded the radio too then they sounded amazing(was in the plans all along just budget related). They were so crisp and responsive they picked up on the short comings of the stock head unit the stock speakers mumbled right on through.

Are you running an amp or just an after market radio?

50 watts per channel afermarket radio. For me.... Perfect. Can't listen to it too loud any longer as after years of carpentry and other tools, tinnitus has taken it's toll. Music too loud means that I won't sleep that night.

I used the Wal-Mart speakers, too. Sounds good for being so inexpensive.

Yes.
There's even a half inch or so relief in the door trim molding that will clear the co-axial tweeters. The door holes and the holes in most speakers are 1/4". The stock speakers used #10 sheet metal screws for mounting. I used 10-24 x 1" pan head screws with washers and nylocks on the back.
