04 rear door speakers - out of phase?
04 rear door speakers - out of phase?
has anyone else noticed the bass is deeper when only the rear speakers are playing?
and it drops off if you fade to the middle. and increases a bit when you fade full front?
someone tell me what wires are what, and I'll cut & report.
and how long did the front speakers last?
got 14k miles...and they sound ruff...but rears sound fine.

Rear Speaker???? We have Rear Speaker!!! When????
Oh! that extra holes in the rear doors the sound like it playing music!!!!
The only way I can hear them is if I fade to the rear totally! I've given up on them! Oh well...

The factory speakers in the front are 6x9's and a large portion is covered by door panel instead of speaker grill. I had the Infinity speakers and the base was tight for less than 3 months then the door panel began to rattle. If you're like me, you'll open the panels (front and rear) once to check things out to see what you can do to improve the sound then you'll invest in premium speakers and sound insulation before you open them again. It's not complicated just time consuming. My $.02.
I'm not saying it's impossible for yours to have the polarity switched causing out-of-phase, but the harness has the ends molded onto the wires before the harness gets installed in the truck so it's highly unlikely yours (and no one elses) has the polarity switched. My opinion is the front speakers aren't moving the amount of air needed to produce the bass because of they're blocked by door panel. Test it yourself, remove the front door panels and listen to the difference. Nat
