Does anyone know the difference between delvac 1300 and delvac 1? Is the delvac 1300 a standard oil and the delvac 1 fully synthetic? And have you used either one and if so what do you think of it? Any info is appreciated!

OK I got it figured out. Delvac 1300 is the petroleum based premium oil. The delvac1 is the fully synthetic pao/ester. I was out oil shopping today and comparing ratings etc. I've always been a valvoline guy for all of my gassers. I saw valvoline premium blue and it had a cummins logo on it and said that it was recommended by cummins. Hmmmmmmmmmm Maybe I'll start running that. Has the CI4 rating and cost about $7.49 per gallon.

How often do you change your oil? If you're a 5k changer it doesn't matter whose oil you use as long as you've heard of the brand and it says CH-4 or CI-4 on the jug. Delvac 1 is the best oil period - if you want to go to extended drains. Delvac 1300 is an great oil for the price, probably a toss up between it and Delo 400. The Valvoline PB is the factory fill on Cummins engines, it's a good oil but not worth the extra $$$ they charge.
