Oh Delvac 1, Where art thy Delvac 1?

ok, that quote is probably horribly wrong but we havent studied that yet in english lol.
But back to the point, I am looking for Delvac 1, I saw some at wally world not to long ago, then I went in there the other day to buy some and it was gone, and they arent getting it back they said, not even any of the truck & suv. So I am calling out to all you guys who know where the quality oil is, where can I find some Delvac 1 or Truck & SUV in southern Ontario??

I don't know about Canada, but the last 2 Freightliner dealers I have gone to carried Delvac 1. Maybe just a coincidence? -Steve

try http://www.noco.com/canada/index.html...

they are suppose to carry delvac1 from what i read over on the tdiclub..

you might want to browse over the tdiclub site under the "fuels & lubricants" forum to see what has been found recently. there are a lot of members there who are from ontario who use D1

Diesel Kid....

Since you are in Canada - check out Esso XD-3 extra 0W40.......group 4 synthetic same as Delvac 1 for less than half the price. Not saying its a better oil than Delvac but it sure is cheaper. Delvac 1 was going for $37+ a gallon here in Alberta. Walmart has pulled it off the shelves here as well. Probably didnt sell a single jug at that price.

http://www.esso.ca/Canada-English/Fi...Xd-3_extra.pdf

Give the help line a call and they will tell you that it has a fully synthetic basestok (PAO) ...Ive called a couple of times to confirm.

Check at the V.W. dealership. Here in the states they carry it for the TDI.

Ok, called around some more, NOCO has it, they are $195 CAD for a Five gallon pale, plus to get it shipped down here from etobicoke it is another $50-$75 at least she said. I then called mobil direct and they pointed me to a place in St. Thomas, which is about a 20 min drive from here if that, I called them up, they can get it, $140 for a Five Gallon Pale, and since its close, I can just go pick it up, I ordered some up as I think this would be the cheapest I would be able to find. Thanks guys for all the info.

PS. I tried The closest VW dealer and they do not carry it.

If anyone can come up with a place thats closer to me and is cheaper than $7 a Litre, Ill listen.

$7 per liter is a pretty good price. right around the same price as regular Mobil1 stuff.

best price i ever got on mobil1 was $5 per liter from walmart. it was mis-priced , and i spent over $400 on 5w30 mobil1 [i emptied their shelves] for pop's truck and van...

I hope Wally World doesn't stop carrying the Truck & Suv. I just bought my first few quarts of the stuff the other day. I still have standard Mobil 1 in the MB since I couldn't find Delvac. :-/

that is good to know , i had been running quaker state full synthetic , for well well well over 4 bucks a liter , single oil change was costing $120 just for oil and filter.

they have that at all the esso gas stations? or is there a better place to get it?

No, youd have to go to an Esso bulk station. I believe John Deer also carried the same 0W40 but its relabelled as their own oil. Out West Walmart carries it as well. $22 for 4L (I guess its more like $5 a litre).

You guys are getting screwed, royally! Most Wally stores here sells it for $7-8/gal and naturally they're sold out most of time. Haven't seen a 5-gal pail of it tho.
Gonna check Big-R next week when I get back from the Coast run.

Induchman - Are you sure its the Delvac 1 not the Delvac 1300 Super?
