death wooble

I know it has been discussed before, but I didn't see it in the sticky. my 3/4 has the death wooble issues. where do I start to eliminate the problem. gets going when the brakes are applied. also just did hydo-boost on it so both trucks now will have good brakes. dodnt ya just love these upgrades.

Mine ended up being the axle u-joints, but the king pins have been known to be a contributer also.

when you do the king pins is a good time to replace the inner spindle bearings and u-joints.

Agreed with the above. I did my KP's and axle U-joints at the same time, but I am pretty sure it was the KP's that caused my death wobble. Here is my KP thread from the sticky: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...g-pins-290373/ ...Mark

Mine ended up being the spring bushings that are in the frame at the rear of the front spring.

Well the warped rotors would be the first thing to do.

Then its time to start checking other items not mentioned.

Check steering box mounting plate. Is it tight?
Checked steering box mounting plate to see if its cracked?
Check frame rivets on front radiator support and see if they loosened up and let the frame move around.
Check rivets on front spring hangers to see if they loosened up.
Look front and rear spring eye bushings over to see if they are worn out and egg shape.
check all front end steering linkages to see if anything is loose.

I heard the brass bushings for the king pins help out a lot on DW. Has anyone tried these?

60 BRONZE Upper Kingpin Bushing

Expensive bushing, the nylon ones you can pickup for $12.

I have wondered about those bronze bushing also. I haven't found anyone that have ran them.

The plastic ones are $3.00 each at my dealer. I keep a couple of pairs with springs on the self at all times.

I got the brass bushings when i got the crossover steering setup for NWF... They are currently in my dads truck with nothing to say about them after about a year.. Front end feels great. my truck however is in serious need of front end work.. the death wobble is really bad.. I will probably be ordering the brass bushings along with many other front end parts
