Dealing with twins bottom turbo's oil drain?
Thats a funky title up there on this thread. Im planning out how to provide an oil return for a bottom turbo without punching the pan. It seems like even at its highest point the pan may have oil up to that point, making drainage difficult (?). Has anyone ever used some sort of scavenging pump to possibly pump the oil from both turbos back into the factory return port?
They have oil return pumps simular to what STS turbo kits use. They can be found for about $125 for just the pump and you will need relay, wire, fittings, check valve, ect. Is the bottom turbo's drain higher than the oil level in the pan?
Mike, it's not that hard to put the drain into the pan, other than pulling the pan itself. If you can find a pan, I can show you exactly where to put it, and you can have it prebuilt for when your ready.
Just put it in the pan. A pump system is way too complicated for something that gravity will take care of for free.
And yes, I know it's a pain to pull the pan.
Edit: put it here. Not a single problem in maybe 5k miles so far? I haven't been paying attention as the miles on my truck rack up.
