I do not know anything about Dayton springs butI have replaced my front springs several times some lasting only a year or two before needing replacement. I got a set from General Spring of Kansas and they lasted the best about 7 years but are now also frowning. I expect the only way to get a really good set of springs is to go to one of the custom spring makers like Alcan. The are expensive but most people have been happy with them.

I bought a set for my 1992 w250 gasser front (3 leaf) and was extremely happy. They used thicker steel than oem. 18 months and no issues. They visible quality was better than a very well known frequently recommended independent. Can't tell about steel quality, but my set of alcans on my 1993 is holding up too- but they lacked interliners like the stock ones.

I used a fly by night company called sds springs. Looked great, but lasted 6 months or less. I wish I never tossed out my original ones.
Brought the sds springs to a local spring shop, who rebuilt them super heavy duty, with a thicker main spring and military wrap on the front. Been good since. That's the way I'll go from now on....local

National Spring is a place very close to me in san diego.. I fronts and rears built for my rig..4" lift and the rears were made to remove the factory blocks.. I am very happy after about two years.. no sag anywhere. I might get a bigger and slightly softer set built by them in the near future..

This is the route I took and love them. They are just enough lift to level the truck, about 1.5" and ride so much better than the stock pair. They have been on my truck for 5 years now with no noticeable wear or sagging yet. They ask about your truck, how it's used, front bumper weight, etc and custom build your springs from there.
