Dana m210

Hi all,
my dealership tells me my front end is a Dana m210 wide front axle. Is this a Dana 60 or a 44? I have a 1992 w250 with a Cummins

Never heard of a Dana M210.

The 100 or so, Cummins W-250s I have owned all came with a Dana 60 front axle.
Side note the '89-'91.0 auto trucks [and VERY few special ordered manual trucks] came with a Dana 61 so they could run the 3.07 gearing. Still basically a Dana 60F axle.

I wouldn't trust the young bucks at the dealership to know what parts are actually in a 30 year old Dodge.

Is there a way to ID them by looking at a stamp or something?

Dana Spicer...Same company.

Yes the Dana 60 front axle will have a 60F cast into the front pumpkin [pigs head, ETC]. Look around the edge of the diff. cover.

If it is the original axle you will find it is a Dana 60F.

Looks like a Dana 60F to me.

Scrape off the grease and grime and I will bet you will find a 60F cast into the outer edge of the diff housing just outside of the cover.

The cast in 60F is to the lower left of the diff cover.

Those 'young bucks' at Dodge weren't any better informed 20 years ago.

If your front GAWR is over 4000# or more, its a Dana 60... which all the 4wd cummins trucks came with.

A better 'tell' is the knuckles. The D44 uses balljoints and has a hook-shaped steering arm.

Judging from the 2 studs that go into the axle on the passenger side leaf spring it is a Dana 60.
The Dana 44 uses two u bolts as the pumpkin is smaller

My RC's D44 uses two studs also. GM D44's use two ubolts at the pumpkin.
