i have new clutches_steels here for a 1969 dana 60. are they the same as a 1992 dana 70?
just wondering if the steels are different of not.

ive seen sites that use the same part numbers, and some different, the carriers look the same, for a correct answer, boyce equipment, ogden utah, deals military axles, thats their specialty

 

If both carriers are bolted together Dana Powr-Locks, which they should be, yes, the clutches/steels are the same D60-80.

the reason i am asking is i did put the 60 clutches in my 70 carrier and it was so tight i had to pull 2 steels out so i didnt break a axle. it felt like i had a spool in it. even a slight turn would lock it up. i will order a new set tomorrow as i needed the truck for work this morning.
