Do you think it's a better deal to buy the kits or individual parts?

I'm working on a Dana 70 rear and Dana 60 front end down to the King Pins and I'll likely reuse the caps with the zirc fittings.

Also, where would you buy from? I checked rockauto, but they didn't seem to have all the parts and what they did have was dorman.

I found a parts list for the Dana 70 on the rear hub service sticky, but I didn't find one for the Dana 60. Anyone know where to find this info?

Here is where i got mine. I priced individual parts some are cheaper here or there but the shipping on small stuff put the cost higher than the kit.

I am also buying National bearings this time. in the past I always bought Timken but I noticed Timken has a six month warranty where National has a three year.

 

currently the d60 is the top choice front for 4x4 enthusiast's, mods upgrading to front d70 and d80 combos are big money, the crawlers are sucking them up. up in salt lake, boyce equipment does military danas, they have anything you cant find from local suppliers. your d60 carries a big part of your trucks value, its worth maintaining.

Yeah, Our trucks(w250) are basically a one ton with the 4500# front axle.

Quad 4x4 is a good source for axle parts. I've used them numerous times in the past and have been satisfied with the service. They use quality parts as well; Timken, Dana/Spicer, etc.

 

John at Border Parts in San Diego was VERY helpful. I did a full rebuild but he will get you whatever you need.

 

I did the differential with a Timken kit. I got it from Autozone online with a gift card for 15% w free shipping. Mine was a D70U. I think it was $125 if you included the discount.
