Dag-gum throttle cable !

Dag-gum throttle cable !

My throttle cable gets stuck when i use the pedal no matter how far i push it down, and dont return, but if i pop the hood and do it manually with my hand its fine it goes down and returns with no problem ? ? ? anyone got any ideas like being frozen rusted etc . . . thanks

Check the pivot on the pedal. Sounds like the pedal assembly may be sticking.

I had the kickdown cable for the trans sieze on me and it gave similar symptoms. might want to take the cables off and see which one is binding.

According to the 1993 manual you can disconnect the throttle cable at the foot pedal. That should tell you if it is the foot pedal or the cable. I don't know what year your truck is but I imagine they're all pretty much alike. Mike

i bet the sheathing is broken right at the pump end of the cable and its hanging up on the metal shroud... Thats what happened to mine anyway. id depress the throttle then it wouldnt return or sometimes it would hang up and i couldnt push it down!

I was helping him and it froze and we gave it some heat and as we were working the cable back and fourth it went ping when he went to hit it, So to kene dodge on monday. Dominic
