Custom intercooler?

Does anybody know of anyone using an intercooler in our trucks other than stock or Banks? I was talking to a gentleman the other day, driving a 98. This was his fifth CTD. He started with a 91 non-I.C. He was extremely knowledgeable about ALL CTD issues and tricks of the trade. Unfortunately for us, he wasn't enthusiastic about getting on a computer. He gave me a good idea about plumbing in an intercooler. What would a 2nd gen cooler go for price wise? Other manufactuerers, big rig? I realize Dodge isn't stocking ours anymore. I'm not interested in the extras that would come with the Banks kit. I would rather stay away from used. Thanks guys, Don

Redleg-<br> You can get just the intercooler kit from Banks, you don't have to get the whole package. The custom grill is actually necessary to clear the intercooler on the non-intercooled trucks. Last time I checked, the intercooler kit listed at $900, so it probably retails a little lower, maybe $800 - $850.

Re:Custom intercooler?

Thanks Monty, after putting the 93 radiator in, I'm not worried about hacking up the core support some more. I plan on replacing the cab down the road anyway. Since the 1st gen's aren't available, I'd be interested in a 2nd gen, or maybe another brand like Volvo or something. I'd like to try to get a new one as opposed to used or salvage. I plan on fabbing my own tubing. Any idea what one goes for from a 2nd gen?
