Cruise Control Activator

My cruise control activating switch, left side of steering wheel, has been used so much in my 1993 2500 340,000 miles of use that the plastic finally broke. Chrysler of course has discontinued the part (WHY do you have to own Mercedes to be able to always get a part from a dealer???) and I can't find one in a wrecking yard or even ebay.
Does anybody know a "Valhalla" of 1st Generation parts where a cruise switch might be found? Once a guy gets used to cruise on a haul it's hard to go back to pushing a throttle pedal
Thanks for any help!

George

If cosmetics aren't important, you could just move that function to a switch on the dashboard. A simple on-off toggle switch is all that is needed.

The set/coast, and reset/acc functions would be put on 2 momentary contact SPDT switches. NC is needed for set, NO on another switch is needed for reset.

Chrysler has not discontinued the part, I bought them at my dealership a month ago, however you can buy them from online sources like www.chryslerpartsdirect.com for even cheaper.

The mopar part number on the PAIR of switches (they are wired together) is 56006422

This includes the Set buttons on the right and the on/off buttons on the left. They are about $50 for the kit.

Thanks! Last resort though as that means pulling all the wires and rerouting them. better than nothing though if I have to do it. BUT, there has to be switches out there....

Thanks much, I'll sure try that. Two dealers said no dice but I will surely try your places.

I just posted the part number a few posts up. It's 56006422 for both switches . These are the switches for 92-93 trucks.

Yup, I called them and they were out but said they would have new ones shipped to me in 3 days.
I sure appreciate the help ya'll have been. I was thinking I might update Ol' WTWD (White Trash Wet Dream is my truck's formal name, WTWD for short) to a newer one just because of parts problems but it appears I over reacted. The old style may turn like the titanic, not have the power or brakes or air bags of the newer ones, but they sure are solid. Besides, I like the looks.
Anyway, thanks again for the help.
