Crew Cab Project has Started
Primer progress
Hi Guys, I made some great progress today with the Crew Cab today. Except I ran out of reducer so I wasn't able to completely finish primin her. But real close.

Carpet
Hi again. Well I got a real nice surprise this afternoon when I was finished up. Fed Ex delivered my ACC Carpet Kit for the Crew.
I ordered the 12011-80 set and added the mass backing option, it also has jute padding glued on. I also ordered the optional jute padding with foil backing to add additional sound deadining and heat deflection.
I'll unbox it tommorrow and show it in the truck and next to the original factory carpet.
I ordered it this last monday and got it today. Great turnaround time too !

Looking Great so far!! I love how your addressing the areas that don't usually see the light of day and can harbor that commy rust pig!!
I might have to copy your removable roof panel design on my crewcab. This has been a huge area of concern for me, especially since I live on the "Wet" coast of BC and we tend to have a fair amount of humidity...
And I'm sure I'm not the only one who is waiting to see the pics, and hear the review of the new carpet installed in your crewcab.

Thanx for the positive feedback.
I really think the removable roof panel is the best way to peserve the cab. Especially since there are virtually zero replacement sheetmetal available. The commy rust monster has been neutralized in my crew.
I can't wait to unbox the carpet tommorrow.

When I called ACC I spoke to Stacy Shierling at extention 625 on their 800 #. When I talked with her I emailed her pics of my floorboards and she said she would talk to the project manager of the dept that makes these. His name was Randy. Who said that it would and should fit as it matched their mold for the part number I mentioned a couple posts up. She was very very helpfull. She also said that if I wasn't completely satisfied, send it back.
I wish I had Tan interior as I would paint it 2-tone 1992 Dodge colors Midnight Blue and Champaigne.
BUT, since I have Red interior she's going to be painted 1992 Dodge Ram Colorado Red (Marine Corps Red Semper-Fi OORAHH !!!!
) With all the 1992 W250 factory black mouldings and wheelwell trim and emblems.
Happy NewYears !!!!!!!!!!

ACC CREW CAB CARPET REVIEW Part A
To Recap. I ordered the ACC 12011-80 Crew Cab Automatic 4X4. I also ordered the kit with the optional mastic reinforcment which is heatwelded to the carpet kit.
To start I took pics of the original April 1984 Factory Dodge installed 2 piece carpet front and back. So you can compare for yourselves the differences between original and aftermarket. I also took the pics on the floor and in the cab so you can judge the differences.
I also did this as some of you maynot ? have original carpet still in your Crews and it helps to see "well what did the factory do back then ?"
So let's start with the Factory 1984 Carpet which is chocolate brown.

This is a pic of the ID tag ( Paper Tag to boot ) that was still intact on the rear section of the factory carpet. Apparently a modified Club Cab piece.

ACC CREW CAB CARPET REVIEW Part C

The hump under the rear bench has this heavy duty padding, which wasn't covered by the factory carpet. It will be cleaned and reused under the new carpet.

ACC CREW CAB CARPET REVIEW Part D
Now to the ACC Carpet. First of all IT IS NOT A 2 PIECE KIT. Which I thought it was when I ordered it.
Remeber this carpet was pulled straight from the box. I wasn't able to set it outside in the Hot Sun 3-4 hours to make it pliable and more floor board conforming. Which I highlt recommend during final installation. But I think you will be impressed. I was and am.

The heel pad is heat welded on and appears to be neatly and nicely done. Excellent color match also.

Now you can see the black Mass Backing reinforcement padding which makes the carpet stiffer, more durable helps with additional sound deading. With this additional reinforcement you can see why it is important to set it in the sun so it will regain its flexability for final intallation.
Jute padding they intalled will be removed, as it wasn't installed in the right spots.
I will be making duplicate padding of the original padding. Usuing jute from a local upholstry shop shich I can but in bulk length. Their padding is also smaller and thinner than the factory carpet.
In short order your set without their jute.
This is the underside of the front floor boards (you can see the tunnel is formed into it:

This is the rear floorboard area. Notice how small the jute is compared to the original carpet:
