Crew Cab Project has Started
I scored a whole roof from a crewcab that was in the wreckers a couple years ago. So I'll be doing the removable panels as well.
You Lucky dog. wish I could find a crew round here. I reused the rear section with a lip to hold it back in place but wish I had a donor crew to do it like I did the front section. I think you'll be happy that you did it and you'll be surprised at what you find when you open it up as I was. Make sure you get some PickleX20 to treat all the surface rust . You'll be impressed and glad you did before you prime and paint it.
Officially Back On the Crew Conversion.
I wanted to let everyone know I didn't disappear. I have officially restarted my Crew Cab conversion this weekend. I got the core support completely stripped. I also have started finishing the prep work on all 4 of the doors. Here are some progress pics. I only work on her on the weekends. But I'll start posting each weekends progress sunday nights.
I got the Cab Light holes done. I used Jim Lanes measurements from the sticky. But like Thrashing Cow the corners didn't look right so I adjusted the measurments. I used the string to make sure they were perfect.

That is awesome, I enjoy seeing old trucks brought back to life. Soon I will be dropping a cummins in my highboy. The body work is going to be rough if yours looked that good to begin with, a lot of rust on mine.
Yup looking good. I think I brought the outside roof lights in about 7". Think Jim's were at about 5" I think? Anyway those couple inches make a huge difference IMO. Not sure if it's the crown of the roof on the crewcabs that make those outer light not look "right".
Thanks Guys, Starting with a Rust Free Arizona Truck was worth the investment. Will make the project go a lot faster.
Yeah I agree the Roof is shaped a little different on our Crews vs the standard cabs and club cabs. Moving the roof lights in a little made a real big difference.
We're creating what Dodge should've.

Actually, the club cabs have the same foward and rear profile as the crews. At least my 93 cummins club cab donor does. It's the reg cabs that got the different roofline in the early 80's.
But. I agree. Dodge should've built these things. But, then again, that would take away our fun projects.

Worked on the passenger rear door today. Got the Pressure vent hole cut out and the speaker hole cut out. I cut the lower panel off a front door panel to trim out the rear doors. Still have to cut it down some more and fit it.
