Yes, granted the air carries heat with it. My question is why not do it right and replace the plastic sheet with a real insulation mat like DynaMat or something similar? As for me, I'll keep the vents in the door open. I remember patching a lot of unvented doors back in the 1960's.

I would leave the vents in the doors open, as was said I'm pretty sure they keep the door from becoming a greenhouse inside. Water will definitely get in, and it'll be harder for it to evaporate out without the vents. Without them you'll just be steaming up the inside of the door over and over again.

What's a good brand of AC tape, and a good price to pay? I'm guessing it's like duct tape where some brands just don't work that well.
