Talking Thanks Brandon!!!

Thanks Brandon and everyone else who have talked about the timing bump on these trucks. I went 1/8 in and the difference is very noticeable. I am just about to take it up on the highway to see the difference in top end. Even though I have the lagmaster turbine housing it didnt seem to effect low end much. I get my gauges this weekend then I'll budget for the 16cm housing. Thanks again guys I love these trucks and their easy 10 minute mods!!!!

I have never actually seen him... for all I know he could look like charlie brown!!!

No offense Brandon! You need to find something else to make a performance video on! Like a pump rebuild or a turbo rebuild!

Is it sad that though I work with people all day I have the most intelligent conversations with people here on the forum that I have never even met?

I wish I had someone as smart as Brandon to talk to when I was in school. When I was in highschool, the "Rednecks" (I put that in quotes because these were the guys that wors camo constantly, and talked with a fake southern accent, but when they got in their Honda's, they blared rap and "hip-hop") would try and tell me how to work on my truck.

One of them told me I should put a 4' (yes foot) straight pipe on my truck. They thought they knew a lot about these trucks because they have seen (not ridden in) my brothers 700rwhp '97.

He then told me he was going to buy an' 01 Common Rail, to which I said, good luck those must be pretty rare. But he see's them all the time apparently.

When they told me I could bring my truck to his house, and he would tune my pump, I asked him if he had ever helped build a 1200 horsepower pulling truck. Because, I helped my brother build Matt Williams truck, which is always at the top of the class, and we did it with way less money than the others who bought Scheid and Haisley parts. (They think Scheid is sacred.) I told them if they could tell me how the basics of a diesel engine work, I would show them how to play with the screws on a VE in the parking lot, but since apparently, the glow plugs act like a gasoline spark plug, they didn't get to see a VE.

Needless to say, I wish I had someone as remotely intelligent as Brandon when I was in school. But it is fun to laugh at people who think they know what they are talking about.

So sad... so PAINFULLY true.

I work with foreign engineers. Once, a few were telling stories how they could buy an A in every class and it was well known throughout the schools... my trust went downhill quick as I started to realize most of them must have spent a LOT of money in a free school!

Put your name in the place of mine and i would of typed the same thing about you

The only kid i talk to in school that knows anything about cars/trucks at all is diehard ford and he has a purple mustang v6 automatic that he thinks is fast and he wants to put his 7.3 IDI in it , i'm dead serious

People come to me at lunch and ask about mods/other stuff bout their cars, I know about 2x more about gas engines than i know about diesels, I rebuilt my first lawnmower motor when i was 11, and at 14 i was in the topend of a 350 sbc while my dad was at work

lol We all value Brandon!!!

I had a guy in school who stood there and told me so proudly that he changed the spark plugs in his dads diesel. Now this was long before I really knew anything at all about a diesel but being a car guy in general and a mopar guy specifically I knew a diesel didnt have spark plugs!!!!! I told him to bring me one and he told me go to someplace hot and fiery. To be honest I started learning about diesels from a friend whose dad worked in a big rig repair shop in indiana. Thats why you guys are so great!! I try to do as much research as I can on a particular subject and if I hit a wall everyone here is eager to help!!!

o boy Brandon, were you a bad boy?

I agree Dave, he saves me a lot of typing also. i tend not to comment much because it would have been about the same thing i would have said just with a few less words. It gives me more time to read and learn that way
